We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting, metal-free clothing to your MRI exam. Clothing should be all fabric in material. You may not need to change if your outfit is appropriate. We provide clean gowns if necessary. Please avoid bringing jewelry, watches, or metal accessories, as these are not allowed in the MRI room.

These zones, adhering to ACR accreditation standards, are designed to safeguard everyone from the powerful magnetic fields produced by our high-field MRI machine. As a valued patient at Apex Open MRI, it's essential for you to be familiar with these zones.
Zone I:
- This is the general public area outside the MRI environment of Apex Open MRI in Laredo.
- Typically encompasses our waiting rooms and reception areas.
- No specific access restrictions are enforced in this zone.
Zone II:
- A transitional area situated between the public Zone I and the controlled zones within our Laredo facility.
- This is where patients and visitors of Apex Open MRI are greeted and undergo preliminary MRI safety screening.
- It acts as a buffer, ensuring everyone’s safety.
Zone III:
- This zone, within the Apex Open MRI facility, carries a higher risk due to its closeness to the MRI machine.
- Only individuals who have been thoroughly screened for MRI safety are granted access.
- Magnetic fields in this zone can be strong enough to pull ferromagnetic objects, emphasizing the importance of rigorous screening at our Laredo clinic.
Zone IV:
- Exclusive to the MRI scan room at Apex Open MRI in Laredo.
Home to our 1.5T high-field MRI machine, the room where the MRI procedures are conducted. - The magnetic field is perpetually active, necessitating stringent safety measures.
- Only patients under our care and trained professionals of Apex Open MRI are permitted access.
